Day 19: Wine Tasting

Another fun filled day in Cincinnati! After having lunch with my madre, we decided to prank one of my madre's best friends from high school. Being that they are huge Ohio State fans (I can't believe I just mentioned that University in my writing...), we HAD to add come spice to their lawn decor. Of course, we did that with orange and blue...lots of orange and blue. Following this quick stop, we headed over to another one of her friends houses to meet up with a bunch of her best friends. Of course, we had to make it a wine-infused gathering. After tasting 4 different kinds of wines, we were supposed to guess which country we thought they were from. Nope, I didn't get one single answer correct. But, I did get 4 different glasses of wine. Okay, maybe a few more than 4, but that's besides the point. Again, I've realized that I probably post a lot about alcoholic beverages, but I'll continue to use the "I'm on vacation" excuse.

Day 17: Another Night Out

After a jam session with some 90's tunes, we arrived in Downtown Cincinnati for some family time. We all met at a Lager House for drinks and dinner, and I can't even begin to describe how impressed I was with this place. From the beer to the appetizers to the dessert--all of it was top notch. Highly recommended for those looking for a fun atmosphere and a full belly.

Day 14: Dinner and Beverages

Had such a great night out in Cincinnati! This was the first time we were able to get out and be social this vacation and it couldn't have been better! After eating THE BEST fish tacos and sipping on some delicious White Wine Sangria at 'Nada', we all shared some adult beverages at 'Igby's'; this huge three story bar smack in the heart of Downtown Cincinnati. So glad we were finally able to get out of the house!

Day 11: Travel Time

Vacation has started! My mother and I made it safely to Ohio! As much as I'm already missing my Dad, I am so stoked to be here with tons of family and friends. As you would imagine, I demanded to be taken to the airport waaaay before departure time so that my mother and I could sneak in some quality bonding time...at the bar. I would imagine by now that you probably think I may have some sort of obsession with adult beverages. You're probably right. But, I like to think of it was 'having a good time'. There's no shame in that. Anywho, I will admit that it may be a bit chilly here in Cincinnati, but I'll soak up this break from the sweat-dripping 80 degree weather that I left back in FLA.

Day 10: Old Stomping Grounds

It never fails that every time I come back to my hometown, I HAVE to meet up with anyone and everyone that I can. Not because I have to, but because I want to. Tonight was nothing short of that. It was so great to come to town and see everyone that I have been missing so much...starting with my cat. Don't judge. He's cute and furry. That wins every single time. I followed that up with a couple adult beverages with some wonderful people. All in all, great night. Can't wait to start vacation tomorrow!

Day 6: Happiest of Hours!

Today was laid back and sunny, which is exactly how Sundays should be! My friend Lauren treated me to late lunch and some frozen beverages at one of our local, popular hotspots: Daiquiri Deck on Siesta Key! They surprisingly have a huge food menu that matches their equally as huge frozen beverage menu. I always go for the 'Mandango'. Don't ask me what is in it, because I have know idea. I do know that it is delicious. After enjoying each and every bite/sip, we just took a stroll down the Siesta Key Village. Stopping at each and every little shop that still had their doors open. Needless to say, it was a great little getaway for a couple of hours. Happy Sunday, y'all!

Day 3: Water Baby

I was born in Sarasota, but didn't live here long enough to appreciate the amount of history and beauty that this city holds. Today, Dad and I took a trip out to the edge of the water to one of my favorite food spots: The Old Salty Dog. Although they are famous for their deep fried hot dogs, I can't say that I indulged in said hot dog. Instead, I enjoyed a Grouper Wrap with a side of the oh-so-addicting Diet Coke.

After our wonderful, filling lunch, Dad and I took a drive up Gulf Of Mexico Drive. This had to be one of the most beautiful drives I have ever taken. Past all of the high rise condos and beautiful golf courses, were the calm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. I'll tell you right now that the view of that large body of water never gets old. Although I didn't get to snap any photos of this scene because it started to drizzle, I will hopefully make it over that way again soon so that I can share those photos with you! But, for today, enjoy pictures of the rustic and cute Old Salty Dog! :)

Cutest little boat, named after one of my all time favorite 'Beatles' songs!

My De-li-cious Grouper Wrap!

Some of their festive decorations!

The scene from their front dock. Never gets old.

Welcome Back to Me!

It’s been awhile since I have been on here, so I want to take this time to apologize for my lack of attention to filling your brain with minor (major) details of the randomness of my life. Hopefully I can make up for lost time soooon! This will be the most random collection of things that I may be thinking, dreaming, doing, wishing, etc. Looking forward to our time together :)

First things first; Let 'Project 365' commence! I am so excited to finally be participating in 'Project 365'; posting a picture and description for what I do each and every single day! I have been waiting all year to do this project and figured that now is as good a time as any! I know that it's already January 2nd, so I'll be letting you in on Day 1 & Day 2 today. I hope that you'll have just as much fun following my adventure as I have taking place in it. Enjoy :)

Day 1: Happy New Year! Can’t believe it’s already 2013. I had a super quiet ringing in of the new year, and I’m totally okay with that! However, I did welcome some Jack Daniels to the party. And, even though my attire was a baseball tee and some comfy sweats, I still enjoyed every bit of the celebration. Cheers to a happy, healthy new year! 1 day down, 364 to go!

Day 2: Orange and Blue! If you ask ANY of my friends, they'll tell you that I'm a HUGE fan of the best University EVER (I'm a bit biased); THE University of Florida! The only thing I have been looking forward to all day is seeing my Gators play one last time this season. Even though I can't be in New Orleans to watch them in person, I'll be that loud girl on my couch, hundreds of miles away, cheering just as loud as I would if I were sitting at The Sugar Bowl in the Mercedes Benz SuperDome. Go Gators! Beat those Cardinals!
